Democracy – power for the people, by the people!?
If you have to have a protest march to be heard, that sounds to me like our democracy is broken.
i.e. if you think you are part of the majority and you have to talk a walk to get what it is you think everyone wants then by definition, we don’t live in a democracy. We live in a democrazy.
If you think this is about Zuma, you’re concentrating on the symptom and not the cause. We need to create government structures that make corruption visible and public servants accountable. We have had and most countries around the globe have had nutty, power hungry corrupt people in positions that they have and are abusing.
After Zuma we’ll have another power hungry liar, that just another way of saying, politician.
